Date:  Saturday, August 4, 2018
Location:  River Bend Nature Center, Faribault, MN
Courses:  Long and Short MTB-O courses
Start:  12:00 pm to 1:30pm

Overview

Mountain Bike Orienteering (MTBO) is an orienteering event on a mountain or cross bike where navigation is done along/near trails. The controls will need to be visited in order & riders must decide the most efficient route as they make their way through the course. Helmets are required at all MNOC bike events.

Road Construction Tip

There is road construction on Interstate 35 just north of Faribault so if travel is slow there, getting off at the Northfield exit is a great option. While in Northfield, you could check out the RiverWalk Market Fair before the Bike-O or stop back after the meet for something to eat or drink (there are three new breweries in the area!)

Courses

MTBO Long and Short courses, of approximately 20km and 10km (straight line distance).

Come Clean Leave Clean

The Minnesota Orienteering Club practices a Come Clean Leave Clean policy.  This helps us maintain a good relationship with the parks we utilize, sets a good example for other users, and limits the transfer and spread of many of the plants that make our venues less enjoyable.

Volunteer

It takes a handful of volunteers to make each of our events successful.  If you would like to learn more about volunteering, please see our Volunteering page. MNOC would like to thank you for volunteering. We have a limited number of $5 REI gift cards for each meet to give thank you's to volunteers. If you would like one, please ask the race director.
